Spring/Summer
2009 News Update
The past
few months have been quite busy for the Extreme Flight
crew! Between the Southeastern Model Show in
Perry, GA, The Weak Signals Expo in Toledo, OH, SEFF in
Americus, GA and the Joe Nall in Woodruff, SC we have
covered a lot of ground! It's been great getting to see old friends
and meeting lots of new ones.
Still several shows to attend during the 2009 season
including the XFC, Chattanooga 3D Jam, Toys for Tots Fly-in
and of course the Hotlanta Hucktoberfest.
I'm sure there will be a few more last minute additions
as well as a trip to China in there
somewhere.
Lots of
exciting news to report!
We are expecting a new container to arrive in the
next week which will contain the highly anticipated Russian
Thunder Yak-54 in both the 50cc and 100cc sizes.
In case you haven't heard, Jim Bourke, owner of
Knife Edge Software, RC Groups, Flying Giants, and Crack
Roll owns the only full scale Yak-54 still flying in the
U.S.. The legendary Russian Thunder Yak-54 was made famous on the
airshow circuit by the late Eric Beard, and Mr. Bourke
has licensed us to produce our Yak-54 with this color
scheme. This iconic aircraft features a beautiful
high visibility color scheme that is sure to turn heads
at the flying field.
There is a very limited
number of these on this container so if you are interested
please contact us ASAP to reserve one.

Also on
board is the new 48 inch Extra 300EXP.
This aircraft is by far my favorite small electric
that we've produced thus far.
Please check out all the details on the product
page here.
This is one bad machine that is sure to "fly"
right out of our warehouse, so be sure to place your order
today!

The new
50cc Edge 540T that we unveiled at Toledo
is currently in production and we expect to receive our
first shipment later this summer.
Look for updates as we get closer to the release
of this new powerhouse aerobatic machine.

I have
requested one more prototype of the 78 inch Extra from
our factory to be sure that the last few modifications
were correctly implemented. We should receive this sample by the end
of May and will get it in the air immediately. I expect to receive the first shipment
before the end of summer.
This aircraft will be offered in a dedicated electric
version as well as a gas/glow version.

As seen
at the Joe Nall, the 123" Extra 300 has been finalized
and is ready for production.
Cowl and canopy molds are being machined and wood
is being cut. I
am returning to China
right after my anniversary on June 7th to oversee the
beginning of production.
I know it has been a long time coming, and for
that I apologize, but I am glad we took the time to make
the changes incorporated into this most recent version. The improvement in flight performance is
substantial and I feel confident that the 123" Extra
will become a dominant force in the upper levels of IMAC
and invitational competitions.

Several
more releases are in the works and I'll talk more about
these in the next news update.
I sincerely
hope that all of you are having a great flying season
and I look forward to talking airplanes with you at an
upcoming show. Please stop by our tent and rap with us
for a while, we'd love to hear your feedback and get your
input.
See ya
at the flying field!

Extreme
Flight R/C announces Competition Rewards Program
Extreme Flight RC owner Chris Hinson
announced Monday April 20, 2009 the beginning of the new
Competition Rewards program. As an incentive to get more
pilots involved in IMAC and Freestyle competition flying,
the Competition Rewards program will benefit pilots who
make the effort to compete with their Extreme Flight RC
aircraft.
For placing in one of the top three
positions in his or her chosen class, the pilot will be
rewarded with a $100 credit for first place, $75 credit
for second place and $50 credit for third place toward
the purchase of their next Extreme Flight airframe.
Proof of placement must be provided by the pilot along
with a photo of the pilot with his Extreme Flight airframe
and trophy.
Pilots placing in the top position in 3 or more contests
in a single season may be eligible to join Team Extreme
and receive a sponsorship from Extreme Flight RC.
aaaaaRegarding
this new program, Chris Hinson said "Competition flying
demands a lot of time and effort from the pilot including
proper set-up and dialing in of the aircraft, countless
hours of practice, travel to and from the events, time
away from family and a lot of dedication. I wanted to
do something to reward pilots who are willing to put forth
the effort required to be successful in competition flying.
It is my hope that this new program will offer some incentive
to get more pilots involved in the competition scene.
So download those sequences, buy a 5 gallon fuel jug and
proceed to burn some fuel! Best of luck to you all and
we'll look to see you on the podium!"

Summer/Fall 2008
Greetings fellow airplane addicts! I hope all of you are having a great summer and getting in all the flying you can stand.
We have been very busy here finalizing several new designs and I will be making another trip across the north pole to the mystical land of ARFs mid August to ensure everything is in order.
Many of you have probably heard through the rumor mill about some upcoming releases, so I’ll spill the beans about a few of them here:
2 meter Vanquish-Due to the enormous success of our 48” Vanquish F3A model we have decided to produce a 2 meter version of this aircraft. This is not a hybrid pattern/3D aircraft, but a dedicated pattern aircraft with appropriate control surfaces sized for precision aerobatics. Our goal is to produce an affordable and competitive alternative to the multi-thousand dollar composite ships that currently dominate the competition scene.
78” Extra 300-We will offer 2 versions of this aircraft, a dedicated electric only version built extremely light for 8-10S, and another version built slightly more robust to handle the vibrations of 1.40-1.80 glow and 30-46cc gas engines. Based on the 58” and 88” Extra designs, this one will have stunning looks and performance to match.
88” Edge 540T-Everyone knows that Extreme Flight 50cc aircraft dominate the class in looks, quality and performance, and the new 50cc Edge 540T will fit right in with our Yak and Extra.
Jeff Williams Profile Extra 330-Pro Bros, we haven’t forgotten about you! The Jeff Williams designed profile Extra 330 is one bad machine and we are honored to be bringing this to market to compliment the Jeremy Chinn Yak.
123” Extra 300-Now in the final stages of development, we expect to finalize all details in China next month and begin production immediately. Look for the release of this plane late 2008/early 2009.
That’s just a small sample of what we have been working on. There are currently 9 other designs in the works for release in the near future. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!
All the best!
Chris and Melissa
